Modern, new large library, best in a whole Miami Dade county. Great customer service, big selection of books. The only downside they let homeless inside. While I help them with some money, sitting next to them is impossible and makes me leave the library
Bathroom is clean and maintained, plenty of outlets and space. Also great combination of books and computers areas to accommodate. Staff friendly and Helpful. A real Library.
Nice library, new and renovated, helpful staff and security at entrance.
Many interesting programs for all ages.
A lot of books in different languages. Opportunity to work at the computer, there is the Internet. They offer free classes for children. It is possible to take books home or force delivery.
I enjoyed my first visit here at the Northeast Dade Branch Library. The library was immaculate and spacious. They had a wide variety of different books and even had a book sale. They also had an information center that has brochures and flyers about upcoming events. The librarian was respectful and updated my information in the system, which didn't take long at all. I picked a new card and I was able to use a computer after my account was updated. I would love to come back here soon.
A smaller library compared to Aventura and others I have seen but they have a decent selection of books and computers you can use and a copy machine where you can print up to 25 pages. If you go over the 25 pages they will charge you. The staff are nice but they are very private and don't like people asking too many questions. I rate them a 3 out of 5 as they apparently don't see many white people coming in to use their services and the staff were not as nice as I expected them to be. But if you're in the area and need a library or access to a computer this is a good place to go.
Great Library but some people seem to think it’s a social hall . No respect for quietness.
Overall, they are generally nice people who can use some newfound excitement on life. This is apparent when you find yourself engaging in unwanted conversations about processes they manage for services you incur and / or property that you must take financial responsibility over. My background (Managing Information Systems) humors me while I watch staff create and manufacture issues within their environment to gossip internally. Ironically, I'm compentent enough not to be insured for omissions when dealing with enities that berate individuals that rely on such framework. I've experienced poor rapport with staff that, as of yesterday, thought it was appropriate to approach me and spur up conversations regarding a process I've inquired about, discussed in detail, and extended suggestions to avoid redundant approach to address deficient practices within a "duel responsibility" entity of property/persons. They think their job is hard and with a tech degree, trust me it could be easier but I believe it is certainly a reluctance to seriously digest customer request as it relates to the limitations they allow/maintain, thus making it a cesspool for people conflict and pathetic service. Although nice, they are entitled. Many staff at the building apparently have connections within the library system that allow them to treat others the way they do. When you pretend to look past all that, you are left with somewhat clique staff member who will. 1. Solict (to enable harassment). 2. Pretend that better resolve is never an option. 3. Then, proceed to maticulously manufacture events to push agendas.
If you manage to stay on their better side (which I don't understand why some of them walk in everyday only to be mad at the people they help everday in a place of information and resources), the experience is bareable.
I'm a very needy competent person, so I can attest to being patient enough not to have problems with people so I don't have to overwork myself while doing very technical work (primarily how I guage entitlement unless I simply apply the fact and truth service is a very intrinsic domain and its not a grand presence at this branch). I have needed to address the branch manager serval times about concerns that eventually end up bothering me anyway, and the idea is to be able to manage issues (not people persay if you dont factor in the staff) so they dont effect the people in the environment, thus causing you to address people who are now on the other side of a leverage government function. That sounds like hostility to me, and I think that sums up the overall experience here. I guess it's a library for experts (although you will frequently hear chatter from staff with staff and patrons).
I hardly say anything to them now and look at most of them as unusual for working harder than they need to because they refuse to. It must be overwhelming, but they are not solely to blame, though they should be mature, compentent, and available to factor, revise, and improve throughly. They would literally come talk to you about absolutely nothing before actually making an attempt to improve internally.
Please note: my only standing issue is that this branch uses Outlook to manage their room reservations and absolutely refuse to allow the feature in Outlook to send confirmation of room reserved then had the audacity when i challenged their logic prior to this incident and wrote down the reservations to not be able to keep them because of changes made to the reservations by staff. I wanted to talk to POTUS after a staff member suggested i write down the room reservations i make. Trust me, had they been any serious, they would realize it is completely absurd to have processes where you capture transactions taking place but leave the same for reservations. Now their ommisions have annoyed me enough to be in court because they could have listened. That my fellow nerds is a pretty eloquent way of describing racketeering... (county). Now, to address a potential invoice for this. Enjoy.
If you know what you are doing, you’ll be entertained.
Nice clean restrooms and quiet library space.
It's small but well designed and open with multiple places to charge electronics. You can borrow current gen video games, anime and manga. Great shade so light isn't hitting you in the face and numerous computers to use should the need arise. Perfect location, one of the better libraries I've seen in my travels.
